It was worth every mile (56.7)

Just returned from Kemper County where Mom and I visited Village Cloth Shoppe, a true Mississippi treasure. Owner Carolyn Hobgood is a gracious and knowledgeable fabric enthusiast and she lavishes attention on each customer. No one is in a hurry here; the longer you wait, the more fabric you discover! I spent more than an hour pulling out, examining, thinking, putting back, and then pulling out more. In the end, here's what the wardrobe anticipates:

A lightweight poly woven with a fine windowpane thread, destined to become a straight skirt; three fine broacloths in pistachio, melon and persimmon which will be shirts; an incredible cotton/Lycra print for a shirtwaist dress; and a more incredible black/white heavy woven that will be a kick ass jacket. I'm planning a review of Village Cloth Shopper over at Pattern Review, and there's a ton of pics to post. I'll include a link when it's done but right now the Sewing Parlor is a mess, and I just can't start new projects when things are upside down. Clutter disrupts my creative energy.
