When the sewing gets tough, turn on the music

No, not Vivaldi. That's for laying out and cutting.

Through sheer determination I was installing the invisible zip on Simplicity 3874, moving on to handstiching the bodice lining to the zip. Tedious, but necessary. This dress fabric is excessively thready: I needed thread nippers so when looking for my sharp nose embroidery scissors . Those scissors never did surface but I ran across a CD of 70s music I burned a couple years ago. Being Sunday morning I had the house to myself, so Gary Puckett, Three Dog Night and Melanie could sing their hearts out without spousal ridicule. It was just the boost I needed to get that handsewing done. I really do love this fabric (brown and cream) which will be the topic of another post some day. The dress remains in the wardrobe until the brown eyelet jacket is complete. I thought the dress looked hot, then He asked why don't I make dresses with sleeves. Hmmm. Upper arms of a certain age strikes.
