A journey of a thousand miles . . .

should include attire for all occasions!

Yes, my closet is empty. Especially when floor clothes outnumber hanger clothes, a sure sign that the hangers carry clothing I'm no longer interested in / can fit in / wrong season. Chances are your closet is the same. Here's my experience:
  1. Despair
  2. Go shopping.
  3. Damn. Nothing fits. They want me to pay what?!! Who would wear this junk anyway?
  4. I'll just get by for now.
  5. Should I try Wal-Mart?
  6. Go home. Wash and iron floor clothes. Or just wash them and quickly hang back up to rejoin their out-of-favor siblings.

And so the cycle goes. Until one day last year, I remembered: "Hey! I took home ec for seven years. Why not MAKE clothes that fit?" (Because the last time I sewed for myself I was really, really pregnant and it didn't have to fit perfectly, just hugely.)

And that's how my journey into the adult world of wearable wardrobe sewing began.
