Fast foward at the speed of life . . .

To quickly summarize the last few months:
Jumper completed, dd likes but it's a bit loose through the shoulders. I say: You can't win them all. Also whipped up a few skirts, learned a bit about pleats. On verge of finishing a darlin' sundress, just do it!
Fabric in - about 25 yards
Fabric out - about 10 yards
Patterns in - about 16. I can't resist a pattern sale. Fashion fantasy fulfillment for 99 cents? You bet!
Hours spent reading about sewing - um, dozens.
Hours spent sewing - not enough. Now the air conditioners are on and the sewing room one is directly beside me chilling my right ear until it hurts. My other excuses are weekend teens occupying my sewing cave, family responsibilities and weak eyes at the end of a long workday. Ain't that good enuff?
So I'm thinking, I've going to the gulf coast for three days and nights in June. Lots of time alone in the hotel room. Shall I make it a sewing vacation? As in packing up the Kenmore and some cutout fabric and spend quality time stitching seams and listening to music? That would be a lot more productive than blowing my few little dollars in the slots or scorching myself on the beach. Both of which would take about 20 minutes. Then what would I do? Break times could include searching out indie fabric stores.
This could work.
Wow! A sewing vacation. A balcony view of the Gulf. An open window, a beach breeze billowing the sheers, a glass of wine and the soothing sounds of a happy sewing machine.
Me at work: The Coast was great!
Them at work: What did you do?
Me: Oh, stayed in the room mostly.
Them: ?????? You kiddin' me!
Me: Yeah.
Them: I like your outfit. New?
Me. This old thing? I've had it for ages!

Stay tuned. Vacation plans to follow.
